Transforming from a Caterpillar to a Butterfly
Where are you in your life? Are you a butterfly, soaring, enjoying your elegant manifestation? Are you a caterpillar getting the message that it is time to transition–time to do something different?
Are you lying in a puddle of what once was you and what may be the future you? Are you sitting around and waiting for someone to give you permission or affirmation of your next step on your path?
Are you looking at what would need to happen to take to get you out of your shell and coding it “hard work” which makes you disinclined to act on it?
Alternatively, are you seeing the obstacles as learning experiences–pathways to your own inner strength and mastery?
Is it time to step fully and completely into the new version of you? That means letting to of everything in your life that is not serving you. You do not have to do it all at once. Just take the first step. Do the first thing. The rest will follow.
And with each step forward you will feel more empowered and you will find that you are supported.
It can be scary and painful at first. I am right there with you.
Following is an excerpt of one of my favorite stories to reflect on when I cannot seem to find my way:
A story is told of a caterpillar named Yellow who was trying to find out what she should be doing with her life. In her wanderings she discovered another caterpillar seemingly caught in some gauzy, hairy filament. Concerned, she asked if she could help. He explained that this was all part of the process of becoming a butterfly.
When she heard the word butterfly, her whole insides leapt. “But what is a butterfly?”
The cocooned caterpillar explained: “It’s what you are meant to become.”
Yellow was intrigued but a bit defiant. “How can I believe there’s a butterfly inside you or me when all I see is a fuzzy worm?”
On further reflection she pensively asked, “How does one become a butterfly?”
And the answer? “You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” (By Trina Paulus’, HOPE FOR THE FLOWERS) I have learned that when we let go of what is no longer serving and supporting us, we make room for what will. And like the caterpillar climbing out of its cocoon, it is a worthwhile trip.
So C’mon Now.Get off the ground and Be a Butterfly…
Spread your wings and fly to your dreams!
It’s “YOU” TIME!
