What Are Chakras?
ABOUT CHAKRA HEALING
The word chakra means “wheel” in Sanskrit, a sacred and holy language of Hinduism and Buddhism. Chakra is pronounced, “shock” + ra with a “ra” sound as in okra.
A chakra is like a vortex: a constantly revolving wheel of energy. These vortexes connect the subtle bodies and act as transducers (converters) for life-force energy.
The chakras distribute the life force through the physical and subtle bodies. They are the source of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual energy.
Traditionally, there are seven major chakras associated with the physical body.
There are also 21 lesser chakras known to exist through out the body that are used in Natural Healing Therapies such as Reiki, Reflexology, Acupressure, Acupuncture and others alike.
We are going to focus on the main seven, the locations are as listed below.
They are located as follows:
Depression· Lethargy· Chronic pain and illness· Anxiety & Panic Attacks· Skin Problems· Insomnia· Weight Gain or Weight Loss· Problems in Relationships· Communication Issues with Others· Career Problems· Feelings of Worthlessness· Menstrual Problems· And Many Other Issues
When the chakras are unblocked and balanced-meaning that our Sanskrit Wheels (Chakras) are spinning freely the right speed releasing negative energy and bringing in positive energy from the universe – we are happy, joyful and at ease in our lives.
Chakras are invisible to the naked eye and interconnect our physical and spiritual selves. Each of the seven chakras are tied directly to a specific region and nerve center of the body.
It is believed that each of the chakras absorbs and filters the energy that we emit through our thoughts and actions as well as through the thoughts and actions of all those that we come into contact with. When one of the chakras is out of balance as a result of negative energy flowing through it, it begins to spin too slowly or too fast. When a chakra is not balanced, it can affect that physical region of the body and also effect very specific aspects of our spiritual and emotional selves.
Each chakra is associated with specific colors and crystals and governs different aspects of human emotion and behavior. Using gemstones, essential oils and herbs with the chakras can have a great healing effect.
